Recently, at a Seminar hosted by the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology – featuring department leaders and top industry experts – CAS was honored to present its innovative solutions for urban agriculture. CAS captured significant attention by not only addressing the challenges of rapid urbanization but also proposing a transformative path forward: the REGreen Model.

REGreen Model: A Technological Convergence for Sustainable Green Spaces

Moving beyond isolated solutions, CAS’s REGreen model is a closed ecosystem that utilizes high technology to address food security and environmental issues right in the heart of the city.

Here are the three core innovations within the REGreen model:

On-site Biotechnology: Smart Waste Management

This innovation focuses on applying indigenous microorganisms to treat kitchen waste. Instead of being transported to landfills, organic waste is converted directly within the building into:

  • Nutrient-rich organic fertilizer.
  • Liquid bio-nutrients. This process eliminates dependency on harmful chemicals and significantly reduces pressure on urban waste management systems.

Adaptive Infrastructure: Smart Modular Garden Systems

To overcome limited land availability, CAS introduced a smart modular garden system. This solution allows for:

  • Transforming concrete rooftops into highly food-growing spaces.
  • Ensuring the structural integrity of the building thanks to an ultra-lightweight and flexible design.
  • Optimizing cultivation areas in cramped urban environments.

Energy Autonomy: A “Zero-Energy” Standard for Plants

A standout feature of REGreen is its irrigation and sensor systems, which are powered entirely by mini rooftop solar panels.

This ensures a “Zero-Energy” standard for maintenance, making the model highly sustainable and maximizing operational cost savings.
